Description of the ARTRAC Sensor available
Now in the documents section
ARTRAC has published the public description of the 24GHz automotive radar sensor developed in the project. This sensor is equipped with a new transmit/receive antenna which has a larger aperture and a multichannel receiver compared to conventional sensors.
According to requirements and specifications set by the project, the multipurpose radar hardware is split into two subsystems: a road condition sensor and a VRU sensor.
In chapter 1 of this document, the overall requirements for a radar sensor for VRU protection applications are derived.
Chapter 2 describes the specification and system components of the VRU protection sensor, as well as the radar waveform and target classification scheme.
Chapter 3 introduces the sensor for road condition estimation, including hardware specification, theoretical modelling assumptions and testing procedures.
